A New Year and an End to the Old Devotional

04 Jan

Happy New Year, everyone!  A whole lot has happened in this year.  I

finished posting the last devotional post from Spugeon’s Faith Checkbook, and so I have to find a new devotional to post from, post some that I’ve written in the past,or write some new ones to post.  Please join me in praying for God’s leading in the choice I make.  I also ask for your prayers for my health.    Many of you know my story, and how I’mdealing with damage to my spine, back, neck, and hips from around 40years of past physical abuse by different members of my family, and that I have fibromyalgia, severe osteo-arthritis and Epstein-barre Syndrome also.  Well, after 10 years of pain medications,my doctor saw test results that worried her and sent me to a new specialist for my kidneys.  After a bunch of tests I was diagnosed with CKD…Chronic Kidney Disease, with only 40% operation of my kidneys, caused by my kidneys being damaged by the pain meds.  I have also been declated handicapped, because my spinal problems are so bad that the back specialist and surgeon decided it would not bebeneficial to do surgery, and in fact it would only cause me to be in even more pain.  Right now my limit of standing or walking is about 10minutes at the most with the help of a cane or a walker.  It has pretty much limited me to life in bed.  But I know that my Lord is mighty and that he is the Great Physician.  So I’m asking you all to pray for me.  I know that the Lord will heal me for His glory and praise.  So please keep me in your prayers for his healing touch.  Thank you.  I am going totake a few days before I begin to post again.  So check back with me in a week.  May this new year bring the Lord God’s richest blessings upon you and your family.  May He bless you and keep you, and prepare and refine you for that great day ahead of us when he will call us home to be in  heave

Thank you, Diane. I can use prayer. I recently found that the prescribed pain meds they had me on have damaged my kidneys. They are now operating at 40%, and I’ve been told that if they get any worse I will be going on dialysis. So they have changed me to a different, stronger pain med, and changed me to a low carb/low sugar diet to see if it will help my kidneys. It has been a tough change but I’m feeling a little better and I’ve already had tests that showed some improvement in my kidneys. They haven’t done better, but they aren’t getting worse so far. As for the pain, they aren’t doing the operation because the disks in my lower back are too bad, and the surgery won’t help. They have declared me handicap, which I’m finding a struggle since I’m one of those hyper people who has always thought that I could get it done. So I would appreciate any and all prayers for the Lord’s help for my physical health. Thank you again.
