Life can be discouraging. We look around us and we see how evil seems to take control. Bad news comes at us from every side: TV, radio, newspaper, and internet, and it seems like there is no respite from the troubles of this world. If we base our life on what we see happening, it seems to be hopeless out there. So we cry out with Christians everywhere: “Come quickly Lord Jesus” in the hopes that His second coming will put an end to all of the troubles.
David dealt with all kinds of discouragement and hardships. Nevertheless, he was able to maintain hope. He put it this way: “I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.” Our faith is hope for every day.
