I’ve encouraged my friend, Bob to either publish or blog his devotionals for a long time now, and finally he is doing just that with his blog Daily Enduring Truth. Here is one of his latest devotions. I hope you all will visit him and enjoy his writing as much as I have. He really knows how to bring God’s Word to a new understanding for us. Enjoy!

Daily Enduring Truth

One of my favorite scenes from Fiddler on the Roof is the song where Tevye asks Golde, his wife, “Do you love me?” In the musical interplay she sings about all the things she has done for him and he keeps asking that same question. Finally she stops and says that she guesses she really does love him.

The churches mentioned in the Book of the Revelation are all interesting case studies but one of the most devastating lines a church could hear was that spoken to the Church of Ephesus: “Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love.” What’s so devastating about that line is that Jesus says that after listing all the good things they have done. Are we so interested in making sure we follow our list of rules and regulations that we forget about our love for God? Do we act out…
