Today I had a small victory in my health issues. As most know I’ve had several health issues to deal with, Fibromyalgia, Severe Osteo Arthritis in most of my body, many allergies to medicines and other things, Epstein-Barre Syndrome, and recently diagnosed Bone Spurs on my lower spine. These have all worked together to keep my movements limited, and my pain great, and I’m usually down with a virus since I’m highly susceptible to get them. I’ve been to specialists for these things for 5 years about every 3 to 6 months, and haven’t seen any improvements, just more deterioration. I’ve had to use a cane to walk for about 6 months now, and struggle going up and down stairs because of the pain. Through all of this I’ve learned that I have to trust God to get me through and praise him for little accomplishments I have.
Well, about a week ago, my dear husband, having seen me frustrated with being sick in bed for 4 weeks and frustrated at my inabilities, went online and began researching the bone spurs. He found a medicine that had great results for people with all of my ailments and decided to order a 3 week supply for me to see if it would help. I’ve been taking it along with other meds for a few days now. I’ve prayed for some relief from the pain so I could even keep up with my jobs as a mom, wife, homemaker, and homeschool teacher, and have asked others to pray for my health as well. Many of my fellow bloggers have told me they are praying for me, as have friends and family. Well, I’m praising God for those prayers, for my husband’s love and concern for me, and especially for something that happened for the first time in 6 months.
This is a little victory because it only happened once so far, but little steps can still lead to great victories. That is something I learned after hiking the Grand Canyon with my oldest daughter many years ago. My victory is that today for the first time in a long time I was able to walk down the stairs in my home without great pain and without my cane. I walked back up them too! I know that this was God’s way of answering prayers for me, and I can’t tell you the joy I feel over this little victory. So I want to thank God and thank all of you who are praying for his intervention in my health concerns. I love you all for your faithfulness in prayer! I love that even in the small victories, the Lord shows his love and care for us, and that in them I know he is always by my side!
